When the community will grow, there will be more players looking for a master. They should be tempted by several things which they can get from the master:

- Gold daily or weekly for the followers. In this line, we plan to implement "workers", players that masters can hire for some daily gold.
- Followers receive up to 2% of the experience the master earn (up to 5% if slected on his squad). Most active masters should attract more followers, being risen in the Recommended Masters ranking.
- Help and guide in the game and eventually, friendship, will help to get the most loyal followers. This is the most important feature in this game, friendship and teamwork.

But in the first levels, you cannot offer much of this. At first levels, the first followers should be got from your friends through invites: recruits

More features are coming to make sure every character choose a master, so you will get more chances to be chosen as a master by other players.

So, you say, that followers get 1% experience as long as their master is only one rank higher... what are the ranks? Is that adept, magician, etc? Or ranks in the guild, etc... examples would be very helpful in figuring this all out. :)

Yes, those are the titles for your rank level. If you mouse over the stripes image, a tooltip will let you know what rank level is yours. More info can be found at http://www.otherwind.com/wiki/guildmasters/index.php/Guilds

Getting followers is tough, but friendship goes a long way. People can change allegiance quickly, and the higher up you are the more of difference it makes. There have already been some betrayals and drama and such (though, luckily, not involving me).
